When drawing or painting
the face, it is important to understand where things should be placed.
There
are guidelines for drawing the ideal face.
For
instance, the head is egg shaped with the eyes half way down or in the center
of the egg.
The
head is as wide as five eye widths with one eye width between the eyes.
And
so on and so forth.
By
understanding where these features are usually placed, it will become
easier to see what makes a person's face unique.
Is
their nose just slightly wider than where it is placed on the ideal face?
Are
their lips narrower?
Is
their chin longer?
Referring
to these guidelines will help you improve your drawing of the face
and help you to capture the uniqueness of your sitter.
